One and a half hours later, he hadn't arrived. I called him again and he laughingly told me "gari imechomeka" and hang up. At first, I didn't understand him. Then a few seconds later, it dawned on me that I had just been taken for a ride. Was I mad? No. In fact, I laughed at myself for not conducting due diligence.
